UK calculators

Savings & Investments

Savings maths is mostly about two things: the rate you earn and how often interest is added. These calculators show both, and separate the money you put in from the interest that was earned on it.

Growth figures are projections, not promises. Investment returns vary, and cash rates change. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or hold any product.

AER, gross and net

Advertised savings rates are usually quoted as an annual equivalent rate, which standardises different compounding frequencies so accounts can be compared fairly. Interest may also be taxable depending on your personal savings allowance and whether the account is an ISA.

Inflation changes the meaning of the result

A balance that grows in cash terms can still buy less than it did. Where a projection runs over many years, consider what the figure is worth in today's money as well as its face value.
