UK calculators

Business

Running a small UK company means repeatedly answering the same arithmetic: what is left after corporation tax, how much VAT is owed this quarter, and what a director actually receives once salary and dividends are combined.

These calculators are built for directors and sole traders who want a defensible estimate before speaking to an accountant, not a replacement for one.

Company profit is not the same as your income

Profit sits inside the company until it is paid out. Corporation tax is charged on the company's taxable profit; income tax and dividend tax then apply to what you take personally. Treating the two as one figure is the most common source of unexpected tax bills.

Keep records that match the calculation

Estimates are only as good as the inputs. Where a calculator asks for taxable profit or turnover, use the figure your bookkeeping produces on the same basis, not a bank balance.
